Summary:
The memoir of three young women coping with being strangers in a strange land, run away from it all one night and take refuge at Ava’s grandfather, Papouk’s home which leads to a night of chaos.
The evening drives them together and as friends they face their struggles with identity and other baggage they carry as being outsiders.
(One Night) is the result of a WhatsApp conversation between Inès, Kenza and Saena, a conversation which made them realize they had the same types of moments and conflicting feelings of identity. They decide to collect their memes and struggles with identity into a book.
Odelia’s desire to tell these stories in a graphic novel quickly becomes irresistible and she immediately, embarked on this completely self-taught adventure.
Despite their being separated by long distances, time zones and successive confinements, they develop a creative process which give life to this artistic, political and collective project through three characters: Ava, Leyla and Salomeh.- Paper copy available:
